
Nutella Cream Cheese Croissants

1 pkg (2 sheets) Puff pastry (thawed)
2/3 cup Nutella
1/4 cup Cream cheese (softened)
1 Egg (beaten for egg wash)
3 tbsp Nutella warmed (for drizzle)
1/3 cup Slivered almonds (toasted)
2 tbsp Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350ºF
Line baking sheet with parchment paper
Combine Nutella and softened cream cheese in a bowl
Mix until smooth and even-set aside
Roll out pastry sheet on a floured surface
Cut pastry in half and then cut along the diagonal of each rectangle to make 4 triangles
Repeat with second puff pastry sheet for a total of 8 triangles
Dollop 1 tbsp of the Nutella/cream cheese mixture onto widest end of the triangle
Spread it over the rest of pastry leaving 1/2 inch border all the way around the edges so the Nutella doesn't seep out during baking
Starting on the widest end, roll the pastry into the shape of a croissant and slightly curl the edges in
Transfer the croissants to a parchment lined baking sheet
Brush the tops of the croissants with egg wash
Bake at 350ºF 20-25 mins or until golden and flaky
Drizzle top of croissants with warmed Nutella
Sprinkle toasted almonds over the chocolate drizzle
Dust croissants with powdered sugar
Nutella Cream Cheese Croissants
These Nutella cream cheese croissants are simple to make and taste absolutely heavenly. Golden and flakey on the outside, yet oozing with a rich Nutella and cream cheese on the inside, these delicious croissants are the perfect blend of warm, buttery sweetness. Topped with warm Nutella drizzle, toasted almonds and powdered sugar these chocolatey delights are the perfect treat for any occasion.
These croissants are quick and easy to prepare and are ready in just 20 minutes. Simply roll out the puff pastry and cut the dough into triangles. Mix a small amount of cream cheese with rich chocolatey Nutella and spread a layer over the puff pastry. Roll them into a croissant shape, baste with some egg wash and bake them in the oven for 20 minutes. Top with some warm Nutella drizzle, toasted almonds and dust with powdered sugar. These croissants are best served warm so that the rich chocolatey centre oozes out of the buttery flakey pastry with each decadent bite.

Notes
- If you don't have puff pastry, you can also use Crescent roll dough or phyllo dough
- Make sure the cream cheese has come to room temperature and is softened before use or else it will form lumps when mixed with the Nutella
- For a slightly lighter filling substitute the cream cheese with ricotta or mascarpone
- You can add a splash of warm cream to the Nutella to help thin it out and make it easier to drizzle on top of the croissant
